The stats:  Hi - i'm amy, I'm an artist, a mother to two vivacious daughters, a wife, wine and dog-lover.

1) I was lucky to have travelled abroad lots as a child. My parents owned a Travel Agency and back before we had Trip Advisor - they were the trip advisors!

2) My favourite sights to see were cathedrals, mausoleums, crypts and the tombs!

3) When I was 20 I studied Directing, Editing and Producing at South Seas Film & TV School in NZ. Those cameras were ridiculously big back then...

4) When I was 23 I built my own freelance Hair & Makeup business and served over 500+ brides and couples plus hundreds more everyday women of all ages for photoshoots, fashion, tv and everyday events.

5) At your wedding, I love to: eat your canapés and dance with your guests!

Weddings are my absolute fav. I don’t try to think of everything that can happen on a wedding day, I just do! It’s in my DNA!

JOKING! Man that would be a dream wouldn't it? It would solve a lot of problems in the world if we could ask chatpgt to genuinely summarise us in under 2 minutes. As advanced as AI is, and as helpful as it can be for me to remove a distracting object (or guest) from the back of your wedding photo - its just really unlikely that any app or person can sum-me-up that quickly. I'm still trying to figure this out myself!!

Personality:

I am clinically, in no-doubt an over-thinker. I think about the nuances of any day - not just a wedding day. I can read the slightest shift in energy between people, read body language and like a giant sponge to soak up the environment that I am in and blend into your day seamlessly. My mind is always buzzing with ideas and ways to fix things, improve things or make it more appealing!

Approach:

My approach is both practical and artistic and draws from my background in the arts, my practical corporate career positions and from feeling inspired when I witness an expression of human connection. This has blessed me with an instinctive eye for light, composition, and setting — I always gravitate toward the spaces that flatter and aim to create the best portrait for you in that moment.

Intuitively:

I understand how to position you naturally, both together and alone and also in your groups. You can trust that when I am directing you or anyone in the scene it is not just with intention but also with kindness.... I also get very excited and spontaneous and love to spark energy and playfulness in my photographs - which you will love to look back at.

My couples often immediately report, when viewing their private wedding collection, that they have been transported in time back to that very day with all the emotions and feelings, energy and excitement.

Experience:

I have been taking photos of people for most of my life. Holding close to me the film cameras of the good 'ol days, never without my pocket digital slide-front snap and go, to polaroids to my first Canon professional camera and lens set - to today where I am utterly in love with the Sony A7 series mirrorless cameras and their insanely incredible lenses.

I ran a successful Bridal Hair & Makeup service in this time, working alongside every type of wedding vendor such as other photographers, florists, wedding stylists, event planners, videographers, musicians, bridal gown designers and so many more.
