Let's escape into nature, the perfect backdrop for your family photoshoot. Depending on the size of your family, we can meet in a private garden, at the beach or local reserve for your photoshoot session. If your group is little, we can also take a quick stroll to be both savvy AND a little creative!
- Let me know if you have members of the family that aren't able to move about so easily so that I can plan some suitable locations.
What to expect
Having a family photoshoot is a fantastic way to mark a milestone. So here are some tips for organising groups and other helpful tips for preparing for it.
"Just so you know, we're all camera shy!"
This is the most common concern, you aren't alone. It helps to think of me as a friend just casually taking your picture. I'm here to help you create memories! I am always thinking how I can make it better, easier and more comfortable for you throughout your shoot.
Preparing Groups
If you are a small group then just have a quick think about any combinations you would like to ensure we get them and the rest we can get creative with. If you have a larger group, then I suggest putting an easy-to-read list of combinations (just like at a wedding) so that we can quickly move people in and out of the frame.
Once we have captured the combinations you require and time allows we can change direction/backdrop or even go from a walk along beach or in the park/garden to get some more candid shots.
Another idea that works well for larger groups is to set up a picnic on rugs and once we have taken the combinations required you can relax with a drink and chat with each other and I capture very candid photos of the gathering. I'm also open to other ideas, just whatever you feel would work best for your group.
What to wear and how to prepare:
● Take everything out of your pockets - Keys, Phone, lip balm everything.
● Remove hair ties from your wrist.
● When we are wanting candid photos, try not to look at me (the photographer) unless I say “and look over at me”.
● Ideally all wear clothes that are plain without colours, patterns or logos or obvious branding or extra accessories. Denim Pants, Shorts, Skirts, Dresses, White, Cream, Beige if on a beach look amazing but just wear what feels right for you. White stands out better than black.
● Footwear, wear something appropriate for your location. Easy to slip on and off or just come barefoot.
Having hair and/or makeup done always makes a notable difference however it is not required for the photoshoot.
